I am responding to your survey in writing, because I believe there is not a concise "agree" or "disagree" to the questions asked. To share a little about myself, I am grounded in The Constitution and Liberty. And my responses to virtually everything, are rooted in the vision of Our Founding Fathers. I have had several questions about religious liberty and about the covenant of marriage. To these, my response is the separation of church and state. Government had no place in religion or marriage and should be removed from each of these. Religion and marriage are personal choices. Regarding The Lottery, I would never have implemented it in Oklahoma. Reward comes from work ethic, not a handout. In 2003, my body broke down and I had metastasized Cancer. I studied Chinese medicine, utilized herbs and have walked a long road back to where I am today. My choice was healing, not treatment. While marijuana was not one of those herbs, I did try it during what I call "recovery" while I lived in Tulsa from 2007 to 2010. I had significant difficulty breathing and trigger point pain. Within minutes, all pain in my abdomen subsided and my airways opened significantly. Should marijuana be legal? Yes. Why isn't it? Because there are those who want to control the "industry." However, we are the people. And we can bring change in that area. And now to your question about human trafficking, churches and nonprofit organizations. If we truly want a return to Liberty in this Country, then government has to be removed from all such programs. Our Founding Fathers never envisioned our Country and its people as people dependent on their government. They were self-governed men. They were also God-fearing men and men who trusted in God. It was that Trust that founded this Country. How did I defeat metastasized Cancer and not just "survive" but get to the place where I am prospering and able to serve in public office? I trusted - a wild, passionate Faith. That is where our churches need to return to - Faith that believes that the "Great I AM" is who he says he is.
